a good time....

FIRST

i startet about one month ago with kendo/jodo/iaido. it is really amazing. i like it. the combination of mastering body and mind is great. it is a real challenge for me to learn the moves and practise it until i dont need to think about how to do it. and its not that agressive like other martial-art-sports. ... and the combination with jodo and iaido is for me absolutely great:

kendo, meaning "way of the sword", is a modern japanese martial art of sword-fighting based on traditional swordsmanship (kenjutsu) which originated with the samurai class of feudal japan. kendo is a physically and mentally challenging activity that combines strong martial arts values with sport-like physical elements.

jodo, meaning "the way of the jo", or jojutsu is a japanese martial art using short staffs called jo. the art is similar to bojutsu, and is strongly focused upon defense against the japanese sword. the jo is a short staff, usually about 3 to 5 feet (0.9 to 1.5 m) long. the martial art of jodo was the province of professional warriors, so it was usually not used by travelers to ward off aggressive bandits or swordsmen, as one might expect

iaido is a modern japanese martial art associated with the smooth, controlled movements of drawing the sword from its scabbard, striking or cutting an opponent, removing blood from the blade, and then replacing the sword in the scabbard.
while new students of iaido may start learning with a wooden sword (bokken) depending on the teaching style of a particular instructor, many of those who study iaido use a blunt edged sword (iaito). few, more experienced, iaido practitioners use a sharp edged sword (shinken).

so for iaido i need a blunt edged sword. it costs between 300 and 1.600 euro. - sure the 1.600 eur-iaito is handcrafted and customized - and way too expensive for me. i decided to buy one in the 600 euro- category...

and that brings me to the next great point in my life

SECOND
i did my annual tax declaration for  the last three years. and i get back about 600 euros from the the department for the employed/salaried tax... so i can order my iaito....

THIRD
my script is finished and i gave it to the publisher. i hope he will publish it. in fact i wrote it because i love writing. but it would feel really good to see it in bookshelfes. and i started writing the next book....

FOURTH
my internet at home is not working. now you think: WTF is the good point when the internet is not working? yes. for me its good - i took time doing different stuff than sitting in front of the monitor the whole evening.... so i decided to keep two days per week where i do not turn on my computer at home. just to get my "feeling for life" back....


so you see. i am feeling fine....
